Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO): In a bid to facilitate thousands of devotees heading to the revered Hazratbal Shrine for Shab-e-Mehraj, the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (RTC), in collaboration with Smart City Srinagar, introduced a special bus service on Monday evening. An RTC official sharing details about the bus service told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the service commenced around 7 PM from Batmaloo Srinagar to Hazratbal, ensuring seamless transportation for worshippers attending the night-long prayers. “If the footfall increases, we are prepared to deploy additional buses,” the official said. He said that approximately 100 to 120 buses, each with a seating capacity of 32 to 35, have been readied for the occasion. The official further said that 10 to 15 buses will stay overnight at Hazratbal to facilitate devotees returning home after the pre-dawn (Fajr) prayers. “More buses will ply on the route tomorrow, and all arrangements have been made to ensure smooth travel for the faithful,” he said—(KNO)
